What is non-surgical rhinoplasty treatment?

A non-surgical rhinoplasty treatment, sometimes casually termed as a 'liquid nose job,' is a procedure which involves a filler injection underneath the skin, in order to change the shape of the nose. The procedure typically uses hyaluronic acid as it's a dermal filler and is able to change the shape of the nose from a length of time which can vary from six months up to a year.

The cost of non-surgical rhinoplasty will usually be determined by the chosen type of filler, and how many injections are needed. In some cases, non-surgical rhinoplasty also uses Botulinum toxin in combination with the hyaluronic acid fillers.

Am I a good candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty?

This treatment can be ideal for people who want to make their nose look less angular, and smooth out any bumps. It offers a temporary solution which can make a suitable alternative to more invasive, surgical options; presenting fewer risks and a shorter recovery time than traditional rhinoplasty.

During the consultation, Mr Chummun will take a full medical history and assess if you are suitable for this type of treatment. He will discuss the type of fillers that is most appropriate for you and the risks that are involved.

During the surgery

The procedure required for a non-surgical rhinoplasty is a relatively simple one compared to more invasive procedures. You will first attend an initial consultation at which you will be free to ask any questions and discuss your desired results with your doctor.

You will lie down with your face tilted up, and topical anaesthetic will be applied to the nose and surrounding area. This will ease any discomfort as a result of the injection. The doctor will then inject filler into the targeted area around the nose, and possibly the bridge of the nose and the base of the nose to change the profile of the nose. You may feel a slight pressure or pinch as the injection is administered.

In general, the non-surgical rhinoplasty process will take between 15 to 30 minutes to complete. Results are considered very reliable, only a small amount of hyaluronic acid is needed for the treatment, and the procedure is repeatable if necessary.

The longevity of the results will depend on the type of filler which is used, and other factors pertaining to the individual patient. With the appropriate HA filler used, results can last six months at the very least.

Recovery from non-surgical rhinoplasty

You may see a degree of swelling and redness, and feel some discomfort immediately after an injection for non-surgical rhinoplasty, but these normal side effects should ease after one to two hours as the injection area starts to settle. As any redness or swelling subsides, you will be able to see the results more easily.

There is no downtime required with the non-surgical rhinoplasty treatment. You should be able to resume normal activities on the same day as the procedure. It is important to note that results aren't permanent, because the filler ingredients will eventually dissolve into the skin.
